Question: My child is allergic to cows milk. Can I give him goats milk?
Answer: Allergy to cows milk is one of the most common food allergies in children. Almost all children with allergy to cows milk appear to also be allergic to a variety of other milks, including goats milk. This is also true for sheeps milk and buffalos milk.
It may seem strange, but only a few children with cows milk allergy also react to mares (horse) milk; none react to camels milk. Unfortunately, you cant just run down to your corner market for a quart of camels milk to pour onto your childs frosted cereal. For now, soy or rice milk are the only safe, widely available alternatives for children allergic to cows milk (unless the child is allergic to these, as well).
